JOHOR BHARU: One of the fastest growing mobile classifieds marketplace, Carousell will be conducting monthly community events in collaboration with Indienomics and Startup Johor.

Its co-founder and chief technology officer Lucas Ngoo said some of the activities that would be held during the events include workshops on selling products online and sharing sessions by successful entrepreneurs.

“We will host our first event on Dec 16 (today) at Kilang Bateri in Tampoi here, by featuring 50 local vendors whose products and services are available on the online marketplace,” he said, adding that visitors also stand a chance of getting hourly giveaways worth up to RM3,000.

He said there would be many activities planned nationwide where individuals and entrepreneurs are encouraged to utilise the online platform to promote and sell their products.

Meanwhile, Indienomics chief executive officer Johan Ropi said the partnership would benefit both sellers and customers.

StartUp Johor founder and community director Feng Lim said their collaboration was the first of its kind for the team and they were thrilled to be partnering with a leading global online marketplace.

“Besides working to build the start-up community by inspiring them, we strive to help them succeed financially and this is the perfect platform to help them grow,” Feng said.
