ISKANDAR PUTERI, April 4 (Bernama) — StartupJohor, League of ExtraOrdinary Developers (LEAD) and Garuda Robotics Pte Ltd have joined hands to establish an academy to help those who are interested in developing their technological capabilities, in line with the state government’s digitalisation policy.

The three parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to establish the StartupJohor Academy, which would equip students with digital skill sets required for careers in programming, big data analytics, as well as industrial drones operation, among others.

“LEAD will provide courses such as a one-day introduction course on JavaScript, Data Science, as well as NodeJs.”

“There will also be a 10-day Full Stack Web Development Bootcamp in June for full-time and part-time students and a more intensive full-time, nine-week Full Stack Development Bootcamp, which starts during the second half of the year,” StartupJohor Community Director Feng Lim told a press conference here, today.

Meanwhile, he said Garuda Robotics would be offering three courses – Beginners Professional Multirotor Pilot Course for those with zero knowledge and experience in operating Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, Industrial Drone Inspection Course to teach safety-centric aerial inspection and Drone Mapping for Agricultural Course that teach drone deployment in an actual agricultural environment.

Lim added that the academy aimed to attract up to 100 students for its drone pilot programming courses and 200 students for its full stack programming courses by year-end.
