JOHOR BAHRU, 28 Oct : UTM Centre for Student Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship (UTM XCITE) had organized Startup Weekend Johor Bahru @UTM 2018 (SWJBUTM18) for the third time in collaboration with the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC), StartupJohor and The Xpress Train (TXT).
Iskandar Puteri’s premier tech event, IP SMART 2018: CREATE returned for another weekend of innovation and creativity, energising over 400 industry players and stakeholders in the Iskandar Malaysia region. Innovators, entrepreneurs, developers, designers and investors took part in a list of activities held from 17 to 19 August 2018 at Iskandar Space, in Medini, Iskandar Puteri.
Early this year, Johor has launched one of the largest startup festivals in the region—IP SMART 2018: CREATE. However, not all are able to participate in the said event, which is why this coming month of August, the prestige bout will once again take place along with the first #Hackathon in Iskandar Puteri!
In line with StartupJohor’s vision to facilitate growth in the start-up and entrepreneurial ecosystem within Iskandar Malaysia, the social enterprise had announced the launch of the ‘StartupJohor Academy’, a new initiative that aims to guide budding individuals on the road of building their dreams.

To further promote StartupJohor’s vision and promote the science and entrepreneurial ecology of Iskandar, Malaysia, StartupJohor launched StartupJohor Academy to provide courses and training in multiple shared office spaces in Iskandar, Malaysia.

ISKANDAR PUTERI, April 4 (Bernama) — StartupJohor, League of ExtraOrdinary Developers (LEAD) and Garuda Robotics Pte Ltd have joined hands to establish an academy to help those who are interested in developing their technological capabilities, in line with the state government’s digitalisation policy.
Organised by StartupJohor, the four-day festival took place at the CIMB Leadership Academy in Medini, and featured a pitching session, hackathon, networking session as well as several masterclasses by some of the best industry players within the region.
